The first exhibitions that included significant loans from my collection hold a special place for me. They enabled me to activate my collection as a teaching tool at college and university art museums as diverse as Purchase, Williams, Wesleyan, Muhlenberg, Columbia, and Harvard.

The two shows that brought broader attention to my collection—The 20th-Century Poster (1984–1985) and Graphic Design in the Mechanical Age (1998–1999)—traveled throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, and Japan.
I remain grateful to the curators—women in almost every case—with whom I had the privilege to collaborate and who realized these projects and their lasting catalogues.
