Last week’s installment of MoMA’s Virtual Views series focused on the exhibition Engineer, Agitator, Constructor: The Artist Reinvented. For those of you who may have missed it, this lively conversation between Jodi Hauptman, Senior Curator in the Department of Drawings and Prints, and Ellen Lupton, Senior Curator at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, is now available on MoMA’s website. We can’t recommend it highly enough. Hauptman, who organized the exhibition, provides an excellent introduction to the show’s overarching themes, and Lupton, whose relationship with the Merrill C. Berman Collection dates back even before her involvement in the landmark 1998 exhibition Graphic
Design in the Mechanical Age, offers captivating readings of some of her
