Today we share with you 10 booklets of sheet music designed by the architect, graphic, costume, and set designer Frantisek Zelenka (Czech, 1904–1944). Zelenka studied architecture at the Czech Technical University, and went on to produce set designs for theaters across Prague. Zelenka cooperated closely with members of the Czech avant-garde movement Devětsil. In 1943, Zelenka was deported to the Theresienstadt Ghetto, where he continued to design for theater productions. In 1944, he was transported to Auschwitz where he died. Throughout his life he devoted himself to architecture, graphics, poster creation, theater stage and costume design, and worked on over 150 separate productions.
